‘I’m Going to Create Something Special’: Nunzio Presta featured on How2Exit Podcast

BuyAndSellABusiness.com Founder and CEO, Nunzio Presta, was recently featured on the How2Exit podcast. The host, Ron Skelton, regularly interviews industry leaders, authors and business owners to discuss what it’s like to buy and sell businesses.

Their hour-long discussion featured Presta’s story founding BuyAndSellABusiness.com, and why he walked away from a career as a professional hockey player nearly a decade ago.

“A lot of people were starting to move away from that nine to five and entertain being their own boss,” he told Skelton. “So, I said to myself, ‘this is interesting.’ And like a typical entrepreneur I said, ‘Well, nothing's out there. I'm gonna jump in. I'm going to create something special, something seamless, resourceful, and supportive.”

Presta and Skelton went on to discuss some of the major insights they’ve gleaned in their time in the micro business-for-sale market: the biggest misconceptions about why owners decide to sell; the difference between a valuable business and a sellable one; what makes a good listing; and what goes on in the best prepared “deal rooms.”

“Some (business owners), literally wake up in the morning, say you know what, I'm gonna sell my business today,” Presta said. “And you know, in reality you need at least two to three years of getting that business ready to sell.”

Presta also discussed some of the most memorable transactions that have occurred on BuyAndSellABusiness.com, including one that hit particularly close to home.
